Sustainability
Our responsibility, our commitment
We take responsibility—today and with an eye toward the future. For BAY CITY, this means incorporating social, environmental, and legal requirements into our business processes and continuously improving them. We have been addressing these issues for many years and are continuously working to further expand our approaches and measures. In doing so, we see ourselves as part of an ongoing process of improvement. A central element is our declaration of principles, in which we commit to upholding human rights due diligence obligations toward employees, suppliers, and business partners.
In addition, we are actively involved in industry-wide initiatives such as amfori BSCI and the Accord on Building and Fire Safety, as well as its successor organization. These initiatives support collaboration with production partners regarding working conditions and safety requirements. To identify and assess potential risks, we regularly analyze our business relationships in relevant sourcing countries.
The results are documented in our risk report and are incorporated into the further development of our measures.
In addition, we have selected aspects of our sustainability performance evaluated by external rating agencies, including in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. We use these results to further develop our sustainability strategy. BayCity has set a goal to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 25% by 2030 compared to the 2024 baseline, in line with the 1.5°C target. A key component of our sustainability strategy is the use of certified materials. BAY CITY is certified by Control Union (GOTS-15804/CU1050066). Our most important product certifications include GOTS, GRS, RCS, OCS, RDS, and RWS. These standards ensure clear, transparent, and verifiable requirements throughout the supply chain.

The following labels provide a further overview of selected initiatives, audits, and certifications at the company, supply chain, and product levels.
