Our responsibility, our commitment

We take responsibility – for the present as well as for future generations. For BAY CITY, this means: we are committed to ensuring that our products are manufactured and supplied under socially and ecologically sustainable conditions.

We have been committed to this for many years. We have not reached our goal yet, but we are on the right track. We can always improve further. That is our aspiration. That is what we are working on.

An important step towards transparent supply chains was recently our membership in the Grüner Knopf initiative. The state seal not only stands for socially and ecologically produced items, but also holds companies themselves accountable. Bay City meets the strict requirements of the Grüner Knopf.

In our declaration of principles, we commit to upholding the human rights duty of care towards employees, suppliers and business partners. We engage in production countries through the amfori BSCI and the Bangladesh Accord on Building and Fire Safety initiatives (as well as their successor RSC).

With our risk report we have primarily considered potential risks for our business relationships in the procurement countries in which we are doing active business. Further to the published summary, you are welcome to inquire a more detailed version.

EcoVadis, the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings, assessed our sustainability performance in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The results of the assessment are integrated in the planning of further sustainability measures and thus become part of our sustainability strategy.
